There are over 600 cadets currently enrolled in JROTC at South Fort Myers High School here in Lee County. The JROTC program utilizes the military structure to develop and improve studentsā€™ self-discipline, confidence, pride, team-building, and responsibility. Students have the option, with no obligation, to join special teams at no cost. These teams compete at county and state competitions. Students gain a sense of belonging and have fun in this program. The students benefit in numerous ways, by achieving better grades, better graduation rates, and increased school and community involvement.

The program is demanding... and we set a high standard from the start. This course is challenging and cadets can expect to do things they have never before done. The AJROTC program is also fun and provides opportunities to go rappelling, build rope bridges, and boost the competitive spirit. Cadets can expect to enjoy themselves in a safe and active learning environment. All uniforms and equipment needed for successful completion of this course are provided at no cost to the student.
