WHAT IS ADVANCED PLACEMENT?
South's Advanced Placement (AP) courses prepare students for the rigors of college academics on our campus.

AP courses are recognized by colleges and universities world-wide as the standard of excellence in academic achievement. In addition to exposure to college level coursework, students can earn an extra 0.04 points per credit hour towards their weighted GPA.
We currently offer the following AP courses on our campus for this academic year:
Science-Biology
Social Studies-Macroeconomics, US Government
Math-Calculus AB,
Language Arts and Foreign Language-English Literature
Technology-Computer Science Principles
Capstone- Research

What is AP Capstone?
SFMHS was one of the first school's in the district to pilot the AP Capstone program. The program requires students to pursue a minimum of six AP courses during their time here at SFMHS.
- AP capstone is a program built on student customization. Students take multiple AP classes in areas of their own interest in conjunction with the required courses of Seminar and Research .

AP CELEBRATIONS!!!
After starting the semester strong, SFMHS's AP student family found some much needed time to relax and unwind with their peers. Close to 300 students filled our cafe for bagels, coffee, juice and games.
