The School Board of Lee County, Florida, hereby proclaims
May 5-11, 2019
as
National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week
LCSD Resolution proclaiming this observation and details
- WHEREAS, addressing the complex mental health needs of children, youth, and families today is fundamental to the future of The School District of Lee County; and
- WHEREAS, increasing awareness reduces stigma, increases understanding of mental illness and supports early intervention; and
- WHEREAS, the need for comprehensive, coordinated mental health services for children, youth, young adults, and families places upon our community a critical responsibility; and
- WHEREAS, it is appropriate that a week should be set apart each year for the direction of our thoughts toward our children’s mental health and well-being; and;
- WHEREAS, The School District of Lee County, through its collaborative approach to serving children, youth, young adults, and young adults with mental health or substance use disorders, is effectively caring for the mental health needs of children, youth, young adults and their families in our community;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that
The School Board of Lee County, Florida, hereby proclaims May 5-11, 2019, as
National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week
Adopted at a regular meeting of The School Board of Lee County, Florida
this Twenty-third Day of April 2019
