Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (JROTC), is a program designed to encourage high school students to become better citizens, with an emphasis on leadership training and skill building. JROTC also sponsors several cadet teams including: Exhibition, Marksmanship, Drill, Raiders, and Color Guard. In addition to this, the JROTC curriculum includes a challenging physical development component through means of team sports, camping, and exercise. Although JROTC is based on military experience, cadet participation in the JROTC program does not necessitate military service. The most important aspect of the program is giving students the tools to achieve excellence in all aspects of their lives, whether in business, secondary education, or any other career a cadet may choose.
